Description
INTRODUCTION In order to produce Rockwool insulation, mineral deposits and other unprocessed materials are warmed to about 2910[degrees]F (about 1600[degrees]C) in a heating system, during which a stream of air or steam is blown. Additionally sophisticated manufacturing methods are based on turning the melted rock at high momentums in a spinning wheel, just like the way that cotton candy is prepared. The completed result is a heap of very fine entwined fibers, bound collectively with starch. Oil is also added throughout fabrication in order to reduce the development of dust.
